This anti-inflammatory smoothie has a taste of the tropics from the deliciously sweet and refreshing pineapple. It's also packed with other key nutrients and fibre to promote good digestion.

Turmeric is the star of the show in this smoothie, this spice is an incredible gift from nature. It's can be used in many different ways such as lowering inflammation, detoxing the body, boosts mood, supports a healthy immune system. To activate the main ingredient in turmeric (curcumin) you need to add a pinch of black pepper which is why I've added it to this recipe. The combination of turmeric with healthy fats such as coconut oil, chia seeds, coconut water, and pineapple help support the digestive tract, pull toxins from the body, and hydrate the body to flush out waste products.

Ingredients:

 1 serving of vanilla protein powder (to make it more satiating)
 1 tbsp flaxseed oil or coconut oil
 1 tbsp chia seeds
 1 cup pineapple
 freshly grated ginger
 ½ tsp turmeric
 pinch of black pepper
 1 cup coconut water
optional extras
 1 tsp maca powder
 1 tsp raw honey

Method:

Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
