Need Help? Improve Your Health In 21 Days With These 4 Healthy Habits

Sep 3, 2018 | Wellness

It takes 21 days to create a habit. If you’re serious about improving your health I highly recommend trying this plan out for 21 days to create new healthy habits. Commit to it, 21 days is a short period of time but it could do wonders for your health. What have you got to lose, take the challenge!

Oh…. And let me know how you get on after the 21 days. I’d love to know how you feel.

#1 – Get rid of the demons

It’s time to take out the foods which are dulling your shine and the foods you turn to when you’re at your weakest. Go through your fridge and pantry and throw away any unhealthy foods which aren’t offering your body any nutritional benefit, and the foods which could tempt you.

I.e. lollies, milk chocolate, cookies, sodas, white bread, white pasta, chips.

Instead swap for whole foods – brown rice, quinoa, oats, cans or beans (chicken peas, black beans, kidney bean), brown rice pasta, organic corn chips, dark chocolate (70-90%), hummus, pesto, gluten free or a good quality sourdough bread.

#2 – Prepare the troops

Being prepared is half the battle! Spend 30 minutes in the weekend making 1-2 healthy snacks for the week ahead so you have something to go-to when cravings hit. Find a snack that you enjoy so you can form a habit that works for you.

A few of my personal favourite snacks (which take less than 10 minutes to make) are:

Chocolate bliss ballschocolate protein energy barcoconut banana loafhomemade paleo protein bar, coconut fat balls. Other options are to enjoy brown rice cakes with hummus or peanut butter, carrot veggie sticks with pesto or hummus, or enjoy organic corn chips with homemade guacamole or hummus

#3 – Hydrate

Make sure you drink at least 2 litres of filtered water daily. Our body is over 60% water, we need water to hydrate our body and to flush out toxins and waste products. To spice up your water to make it more interesting add a lemon or lime wedge to it, or a handful of berries/ chopped fruit.

#4 – Recuperate

When you’re used to “treating yourself” with sweet treats or alcohol after a long hard day, for 21 days find a new healthy habit to treat yourself with. Buy yourself a new herbal tea to enjoy, you could enjoy this with 2-3 squares of 70%-90% dark chocolate, or, at the end of the week if you avoided all temptation treat yourself with a non-food reward such as massage or you could go and get your nails done.

Commit to it, you can do it! And then let me via my contact page, in the comments below or a DM on social media about how you got on after 21 days!

Good luck!!! And I look forward to hearing from you!
