Triona Daly from Wendyls Green Goddess has shared her amazing DIY makeup remover wipes with us this week. I’m a huge believe in reducing our exposure to toxic chemicals so I’m super excited about this recipe!

These gentle DIY wipes are a delightful way to remove your make up. There are no harsh chemicals or alcohol-based astringents to dry out your skin, and with only four ingredients they are very easy to make. The natural solution smells wonderful, and the lovely soft wipes from Thinkwise are chemical-free and contain no parabens, petrochemicals, bleach, or phthalates.

Triona uses Manuka aroma water for this recipe as it’s a natural astringent and is anti-bacterial. Manuka is well known for its health benefits, and Manuka water has traditionally been used for calming the skin.

½ cup Filtered water

1 tbsp Manuka water

1 tbsp Witch hazel

2 drops Lavender essential oil

1 Small jar

Thinkwise Enviro chemical free biodegradable wipes*

Measure out all of the ingredients into a clean glass jug and swirl to combine. Cut your wipes on a clean surface into strips of approximately 5 cm wide, fold each strip into squares.

Pour a little of the solution into the bottom of your glass jar and place about four squares in on top, then add some more solution and more wipes, continue until they’re all in the jar covered with solution. Put the lid on and close tightly, use when needed. They will last several weeks if kept in a cool place away from the sun, when hot or humid you may need to store them in the fridge.

I bought the Manuka aroma water and witch hazel from Lotus Oils.

*You could use Chux wipes instead of Thinkwise Enviro wipes but they don’t feel nearly as nice on your face. You can also reuse your wipes by washing them carefully with in warm water with Castile soap.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=”Row” _builder_version=”3.25″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ custom_padding=”|||” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_divider divider_style=”dashed” divider_position=”center” _builder_version=”3.17.5″ max_width=”68%” module_alignment=”center”][/et_pb_divider][et_pb_image src=”https://nataliebrady.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Natalie-Brady-New-Zealand.png” align=”center” align_tablet=”center” align_phone=”” align_last_edited=”on|desktop” _builder_version=”3.23.3″ max_width=”21%” module_alignment=”center” custom_padding=”25px|||”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.27.4″ text_orientation=”center” custom_padding=”25px||25px|”]

Hi I’m Natalie, a Registered Clinical Nutritionist, health influencer, blog writer & recipe creator.
